How to Get the Most from your Green Tea
Green tea is a nutritious drink and is packed with a lot of health benefits. Unfortunately, many people do not understand how to take green tea in the right manner. Correctly taking green tea will help you achieve all the benefits.
There are many reasons why people take green tea. One of the reasons for the popularity of green tea is its weight loss benefits. However, people still make the drink for general health. Here are some of the ways to take your green tea:
Water Temperature
The temperature that you use to make green tea is critical. You need to avoid using water that is too cold or too hot. The right temperature for green water tea should be just before the water starts boiling. Unlike popular belief, you should not use water at boiling point because at this point the water is already too hot.
On the other hand, you need to avoid using cold water because it will not allow the green too to release all the flavors. Wait for your water to start releasing bubbles but do not wait for it to boil thoroughly.
Amount and Brewing Time
The amount of green tea and the brewing time is a controversial topic. When it comes to brewing time, it is a matter of preference. Waiting for at least 2 minutes before you drink the tea is the right time to ensure that it brews to the desired taste.
Most of the time, green tea is packed in tea bags, and it is recommended that you use one tea bag per cup. On the other hand, if you are not using tea bags, 2 grams of green tea can brew 6 ounces of water. Achieving the right taste and color is always the goal when brewing green tea.
Sweeteners and Flavors
Some people prefer taking green tea without any sweeteners and flavors. However, if you feel that your green tea is tasteless, then you can add sweeteners and flavors. The idea is to make sure that you add healthy sweetening agents like honey. You can also use flavors like mint and add to the green tea. Avoid unhealthy flavors and sweeteners in your green tea.
Use Clean Water
The type of water that you use for your green tea will affect the taste that you get. When brewing green tea, tap water is not the best option to use. The disadvantage with tap water is the fact that it contains a lot of minerals.
These minerals might affect the taste of the green tea and also the quality of the drink. Make sure that you use spring water every time that you make green tea. Spring water brings out the natural taste of the tea, and it will make you enjoy the drink at the same time gain all the benefits.
Quality of Tea
There are different varieties of green tea, and you need to make sure that you buy the right class. To ensure that you get the right quality of tea, make sure that you buy from a reputable supplier.
